
Copycat Cheese It Crackers Recipe
If you love Cheez-It brand cheese crackers, then you'll love this super easy recipe. With just four ingredients and a little water, this is a recipe that even the kids can make and you'll know exactly what's in them.
Equipment
- 1 set measuring cups and spoons
- 1 mixing bowl
- 1 mixing spoon or fork
- 1 cookie sheet
- 1 silicon mat or parchment paper
Ingredients
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 4 Tbsp butter softened
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 4 Tbsp ice water
- 1 tsp course sea salt optional
Instructions
- Mix the cheese, butter and salt until well combined
- Slowly add the flour while mixing until dry "pebbley" consistency
- Slowly add the ice water until thoroughly blended into a dough ball
- Refrigerate the dough for 1 hour
- Preheat oven to 375 ℉ (190.5 ℃)
- Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and roll the dough onto it no thicker than 1/16" (about 1.6mm)**NOTE: The thinner, the crispier!
- Cut into 1" squares and poke a small hole in the center of each
- Bake in preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown
