
Cinnamon Bread - Baking with Friendship Bread Starter
There are so many different recipes for friendship bread starter we're going to share a few of our favorites with you. We are including the ingredients for the traditional Cinnamon and have a separate recipe listed for Harvest Pumpkin, but let your imagination run wild with other combinations you can make! Equipment
- 1 set measuring cups and spoons
- 1 large mixing bowl non-metal recommended
- 1 medium mixing bowl
- 1 mixing spoon
- 2 loaf pans 9" x 5" pans
- cooling racks
Ingredients
Cinnamon Bread
- 1 cup Friendship Bread Starter
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- ½ cup milk
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1 box instant vanilla pudding 3.4oz box *optional
Cinnamon Sugar Topping
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325℉
- Grease two 9x5 loaf pans and dust the pans, sides and bottoms with half the cinnamon-sugar mixture
- In a large bowl, whisk together : starter, eggs, oil, sugar and vanilla until thoroughly mixed
- In a separate bowl whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and pudding mix.
- Stir the dry ingredients into the wet until mixed.
- Pour batter into the prepared pans. Sprinkle the remaining cinnamon-sugar topping over the top of the batter.
- Bake for 45 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in the pans for 10 minutes before removing to a cooling rack.

- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- pinch of salt
- optional: 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon or vanilla extract
